ANA announces Haneda opening
The new South Pier of Terminal 2 at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport will open to the public on February 15, completing the final phase of construction at the terminal, which is occupied almost exclusively by ANA.
Terminal 2, which opened in 2004, consists of a main building and North Pier. About 70 percent of ANA flights are served by the Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB), but that will rise to about 90 percent when the South Pier and its five PBB gates open. The airport says that this will improve the speed and efficiency of boarding and disembarking.
The South Pier will add about 11,000 sq. m. of space, with additional retail and food and beverage offerings such as Starbucks, along with a relaxation area with massage chairs and a business support center equipped with computers, printers and photocopiers. Members of ANA’s Mileage Club Diamond and Platinum Service, as well as ANA Super Flyers, will be able to enjoy a new Signet Lounge, which will increase the terminal’s lounge seating to 770 the largest of any domestic airport in Japan.
