ATA attacks LAX rate increase

The Air Transport Association (ATA) in the U.S. has come out swinging against the decision by Los Angeles County Council to allow Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to raise airport terminal rental rates. In a statement, ATA expresses its disappointment in the decision, and goes on to question its legality, saying that the good faith negotiations that preceded the increase “were not conducted with candor and in good faith.” ATA says that the airport has adopted an adversarial attitude in its relations with its airline customers, in contrast to other airports that have shown a more cooperative attitude, and that its approach will delay “much needed modernization” of the “antiquated” airport facilities.


Once a state-of-the-art facility, LAX is now in need of modernization, critics say
